Jason Derulo was just 8-years old when he wrote his first song.
'Crush On You' was written for a girl called Amy who he wanted to impress but never quite got there. "Her name was Amy and I wanted to do something for her so maybe she would take me out for a baloney sandwich if I impressed her enough," Jason tells Undercover News. "So I decided to write her this song but I never sang it for her. She is probably married with 3 kids or something now."The lyrics were quite forward for an 8-year old. "24/7 days of the week / my mind is on you and its getting to me / I've got a crush on you". However, the song didn't even make the shortlist for Jason's debut album.
So now at age 20, and after writing his first song at 8, Jason is somewhat of a songwriting veteran already. "Absolutely. Its been a very long time," he says. "When I tell people its been a long road they go "oh please you are only 20". But when you have been doing something your whole life
