Former Prince protégé Tevin Campbell has joined the Australian cast of Hairspray.
Tevin was 11 years old when he was first discovered by Quincy Jones and sang on his 1989 'Back on the Block' album.That lead the child star to the notice of Prince who recruited him for his 'Graffiti Bridge' movie where Tevin sang 'Round and Round' for the soundtrack.
In 1991, Tevin released his debut album 'T.E.V.I.N.' on Prince's Paisley Park label. The album sold over one million copies in the USA.
Tevin will play Seaweed in the Australian cast of Hairspray. He arrived in Melbourne over the weekend.
