Michael Been, lead singer for The Call, has died of a heart attack at the age of 60 at a music festival in Belgium.
Been was at the festival working as a soundman Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, fronted by his son Robert Levon Been.Michael Been was from Oklahoma.
The Call formed in California in 1980 and had a global hit with 'The Walls Came Down' in 1983. The Call's 'Scene Beyond Dreams' album was produced by Garth Hudson from The Band.
Been also performed in bands for the actor Harry Dean Stanton and had his own acting role once when he played an apostle in Michael Scorsese's 'The Last Temptation of Christ'.
Michael Been died at the Pukkelpop festival in Hasselt, Belgium. Concert goers at the festival are also in shock following the suicide of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool singer Charlie Haddon as soon as he came off stage.
