Jay-Z streaks ahead in annual hip-hop earnings on Forbes latest Cash Kings list.
The hip-hop mogul has been deemed so rich that Forbes estimated that he paid more in taxes over the last year than all but one other rapper in the game actually earned.Jay-Z raked in $63 million through his new album, touring (earning a million per night), nightclubs and his stake in the New Jersey Nets basketball team.
Diddy came in distant second, with $30 million from his clothing, vodka and Bad Boy records businesses, as well as a new album and his role in Get Him To The Greek.
Third was Akon, who raked in $21 million from clothes, a Pepsi endorsement, a record label, and more music.
Hard touring scored jailbird Lil Wayne $20 million, Dr. Dre got $17 million in royalties and production bucks, Ludacris scored $16 million through condom, cognac, and body spray endorsements deals, and Snoop Dogg scored $15 million mostly through touring.
They're followed by, in descending order: Timbaland, Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Drake, T.I., Swizz Beats, Eminem, 50 Cent, Young Jeezy, Common, Soulja Boy, T-Pain, Lil Jon, and Gucci Mane.
