Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr has written the theme for David Cross’s new TV series.
David Cross, best known as a stand-up and from his role as Tobias Funke in Arrested Development (and to a lesser extent, his work in Alvin And The Chipmunks), has a new TV series called The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret. The show is about an office temp who bumbles his way into senior management, and co-stars Arrested Development alum Will Arnett and is set to feature a guest appearance by director Spike Jonze.
The BBC reports that ex-Smiths guitarist (and also a member of The Pretenders, The The, Modest Mouse and currently The Cribs), has written the theme song for the show, called 'Life Is Sweet', as well as some incidental music.
It's his first TV work but he did recently work on the score for Christopher Nolan's sci-fi blockbuster Inception.
