The new Brian McMadden album `Wall of Soundz` is actually a group album for Wall of Soundz but in the end, the label wanted it to be a Brian McFadden record.
Brian McFadden dropped into Undercover's new IPTV channel uctv.fm and told the story."Wall of Soundz is actually me and Rob," he tells Undercover. "That is our production company. It was actually a band we put together. Wall of Soundz was actually going to be a band being me and Rob in the vein of The Neptunes or N.E.R.D.. We were going to have guest vocalists singing all of the vocals but that was going to be too hard to tour because we were never going to be able to get all of those singers on the road. So we said, why don't I just sing all the vocals and we will still call it the Wall of Soundz".
That sounded like a good idea at the time, until his label Universal caught wind of it. "When we were nearly finished Universal said to me "so when are we going to get a new Brian McFadden album." So I said "we finished this in about 4 or 5 months so maybe in two years you can have a Brian McFadden album" and they scratched their heads. We all went "oh yeah, that will be four years in between records so we just made this the Brian McFadden record."
The gamble paid off and has now delivered two Top 10 dance hits in 'Chemical Rush' and 'Just Say No'. We were about cautious at first how people would receive this and if it was going to be a bad fit," he says. "We took the gamble, we took the risk and it seems to have paid off so far".
