Back in Australia from New York, The Grates plan to record in October.
John Patterson and Patience Hodgson dropped into triple j during a three week holiday back in Australia after spending the majority of this year in New York. They admitted that they wrote "a bunch" of music before they headed to The Big Apple, and wrote another "bunch" during their time there.
After scrapping some material, they're ready to record and they've pencilled in studio time for October.
Hodgson said, "I never want to commit to things when they're not in cement but it feels good, it feels really good. I honestly am so excited. I've never been this excited. I think it's cause it's taken a lot longer this time, it keeps building up in my brain."
They have one show planned while they're holidaying back home, at The Ekka on Friday August 6, and will come back to Australia in December.
