John Butler’s artist support fund The Seed has announced its recipients for 2010.
A total of $73,406.35 was distributed between visual artists, indigenous community musicians and music managers to further their careers.The visual artists are Jasmine Habbouchi, Belinda Campbell and Damian Collins, who will share in $13, 406.35 (yep, they get the 35 cents).
The 23 music managers and self-managers include Husky Gawenda, Jen Cloher, Jess McAvoy, Sal Kimber and managers for acts such as The RAah Project, Skye Harbour, Ash Grunwald, Ball Park Music, Ganga Giri, Polaroid Fame and more.
They share in $40,000.
The other $20,000 is shared between indigenous musicians Lazy Late Boys, Springwater, White Water Band and Young Guns.
The Seed fund aims to help Australian artists become self-sustained professionals and has been granted annually since 2005.
