Rickie Lee Jones will return to Australia for the second time this year to perform for the Melbourne Festival, along with Sinead O’Connor, John Cale, Meshell Ndegeocello and Gurrumul.
The 25th Melbourne Festival will take place in the city over 16 days from October 8 to 23.O'Connor, Cale, Jones and Ndegeocello will feature in the closing concert 'Seven Songs To Leave Behind'. The show will also feature an appearance from Black Arm Band.
As part of the festival, Cale will perform his seminal solo album 'Paris 1919' in its entirety with Orchestra Melbourne in his own show 'Noises Inside My Head'.
Other acts to play at the Melbourne Festival include The Break (ex-Midnight Oil/Violent Femmes), The Drones and Pikelet.
The Melbourne Festival will feature 13 world and 14 Australian premiere works. 909 artists will perform over the two-week period. 658 will be Australian. 251 international.
