Indie hip hop originator Sage Francis will tour Australia in October.
Rhode Island's Sage Francis will bring his labelmate B. Dolan to Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth in October. One of hip hop's most witty and provocative rhymers (and probably the only one with degrees in communications and journalism), Sage Francis became a touchstone for the burgeoning indie movement in the late '90s.
He began as a rapper and spoken word artist, started Strange Famous Records (signing fellow conscious acts B. Dolan, Buck 65, Alias and more) and built up a reputation as an incisive thinker over four full-length albums.
His most recent, Li(f)e, saw him branch out even further, working with indie artists Calexico, Granddaddy, Death Cab For Cutie, Sparklehorse and more.
Sage Francis recently sold out his recent London shows months in advance, and the same should happen for this highly anticipated Australian tour. Tickets go on sale Friday 23 July.
