Former Replacements singer Paul Westerberg may be out of action for the next year following a bizarre accident where he stabbed himself in the left hand with a screwdriver.
Westerberg was scrapping wax from a candle about a week ago when the accident occurred. The screwdriver slipped and pierced his left hand, ripping the cartilage and hurting the musician quite severely."He's in a cast. He's seen a couple of doctors who say he won't be able to play guitar for a year" his friend Jim Walsh posted in a blog.
Westerberg had just had a productive year. He scored the animated hit movie 'Open Season' and reunited with Tommy Stinson and Chris Mars from The Replacements to record some new music for a compilation album.
