As scary as that headline is, brothers in substance abuse Pete Doherty and Shane MacGowan have already posed nude for photographer Mario Testino.
MacGowan posted the disturbing news on his blog for The Guardian. After noting that the Pogues' Christmas classic 'Fairytale Of New York' has snuck back into the UK charts at number six with absolutely no promotion, he finished off with the news."I had my photograph taken with Mr Doherty recently," he wrote. "It was by Mario Testino, at some studio in Shepherds Bush. Nothing particularly unusual, except he asked us to be naked together. Which was pretty unexpected. What's more unexpected is that we obliged. So there's an image for you to look out for." Yikes!
Well, maybe Testino can make them beautiful. The Peru-born and London-based photographer has photographed for Vogue and Vanity Fair and is best known in Britain for his portraits of the late Diana, Princess Of Wales.
The photographs are purported to be featured in Vogue as part of a feature on British style, although it threatens to present the UK as particularly Dickensian in 2007.
