So are they or aren't they? Yesterday we had the news of the Thailand marriage of Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty and model Kate Moss. Today we have the denial.
Stuart Higgins, spokesperson for Kate Moss, today denied that the marriage took place. "Contrary to various entirely false media reports today, there has not been any kind of marriage ceremony in Thailand. She is on holiday" he said in a statement. The wedding story spread instantly yesterday after London's Daily Mirror reported first-hand accounts from staff at the luxurious Amanpuri Hotel as confirming the nuptials.
The report said that it was a Buddhist, which under UK law, would not be officially recognized. Further rumours suggest a real wedding date has been set for January 18, 2007 in the UK.
Doherty and Moss have been engaged since October 2005 and despite their celebrity, are better known for their drug usage.
Both Moss and Doherty have spent stints in rehab during their relationship. Doherty has gone even further and has managed to have charges laid against him in the time for possession of cocaine, crack, heroin and marijuana.
Thailand has the death penalty for people convicted of drug trafficking.
