The Verses finally have a new album on the way, after touring the country drumming up support for well over a year.
The band, who formed from the ashes of Killing Heidi, will release their debut album 'Seasons' on August 13.'Seasons' was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Mitchell Froom (Crowded House, Elvis Costello, Missy Higgins) and features members of Elvis Costello and Jackson Browne's backing bands.
"To me, the album is about a journey," says singer Ella Hooper. "In my mind, there's this character, a girl who's breaking away from her past, going from the country to the city, falling in love, getting into scrapes. 'Seasons' is a metaphor for that cycle. You have good times, hard times, then you're reborn."
