Aztec Records have given birth to new punk division Rub and Tug Records with two albums from Australian punk bands Speed Demons and Depression.
Speed Demons 'Play Hard Go Fast' was recorded for $400 at the Duke of Windsor in Melbourne in 2004. The album also features a rare 8-track demo from 1988.Depression 'Why Do People Hate Us?' was recorded live at the Seaview Ballroom in St Kilda in 1984. It was only previously available as a bootleg.
Both albums features guitarist and vocalist Smeer.
Rug and Tug Records plans to next release late 80s album 'Terabac Mahs' from Sham Cabaret, featuring Dirty Three drummer Jim White as well as two more albums from Depression 'Thrash Til Death' and 'Ultrahardcoremegaheavypunkmetaltrash'.
Then expect a compilation of Tasmania punk bands, seriously.
