A week of collaborations, performances and a new single signals Kanye West’s comeback.
Kanye was laying low following the Taylor Swift incident, but all that has changed with the impending release of his next album and final installation of his tetralogy of albums Good Ass Job.808s & Heartbreaks notwithstanding, Good Ass Job will complete the six-year, four album sequence of The College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation.
And this week West made sure everyone knew about it.
On Sunday he was perched atop a smoke-spewing volcano to perform the brash, rugged new track 'Power' at the opening of the BET Awards.
On Wednesday, it was the radio debut of Kid Cudi's 'Erase Me', from his forthcoming sophomore album Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, to which Kanye contributed some more furious rhymes.
That same day he released 'Power', which is the first single from Good Ass Job, with creepy cover art featuring Kanye's severed head impaled by a sword.
On Thursday a new Rick Ross track called 'Live Fast' leaked and, yes, Kanye guested on that one too.
More information about the album has filtered through, including guest spots from Common, Mos Def, Drake, Kid Cudi returning the favour, Nicki Minaj, RZA, Pete Rock, and DJ Premier.
Surely he won't be able to keep this up the next six weeks until Good Ass Job's release on September 14.
