Jim Lindberg, former singer for melodic punk lifers Pennywise, launches new band The Black Pacific.
After melodiously yelling rebellious platitudes for thirteen years with Pennywise, Lindberg announced his departure from the SoCal punk institution in 2009, citing tour fatigue and the usual creative differences.Zoli Teglas from hardcore band Ignite took over the singing reigns for both bands last year, and Pennywise set to recording album number ten.
Now Lindberg has announced the project he set up since the Pennywise split, called The Black Pacific.
Lindberg sings, plays guitar and is the sole songwriter, with Davey Latter from Everest on bass and Alan Vega from Good Guys In Black on drums.
The Black Pacific's ten track self-titled debut will be released through SideOne Dummy Records on September 14.
In the meantime, their dotcom is hosting two songs, 'The System' and 'When It's Over', both of which sounds suspiciously like Pennywise.
