Jenny Lewis and songwriting partner Jonathan Rice a.k.a. Jenny and Johnny have announced a few details of their debut album, tour dates and a lack of Arizona shows.
The couple met in 2005 after being introduced by Conor Oberst and have worked on each other's projects, but this is the first time they have released a record as a duo.Their debut record was recorded with Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes) in his studio in Omaha, Nebraska and will go by the name of 'I'm Having Fun Now'.
The duo are about to head out on a thorough tour through the States, but Arizona will be left out for the time being.
In a statement on their website they say "we are not playing any shows in Arizona. The arizona state legislature recently passed a bill, "SB 1070?, as part of their new immigration policy. This bill legalizes and sanctions racial profiling."
"So many of our friends and fans are of latino/chicano/hispanic origin, and we wanna show our love and respect for them by boycotting the state of arizona until they come to their senses."
