Dr Conrad Murray, the doctor charged with the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, can keep his medical license, a California judge has ruled.
At a hearing in Los Angeles on Monday (June 14, 2010), Judge Michael Pastor ruled that he did not have the authority to suspend the doctor's license because a previous judge had already ruled on a restriction of the doctor's use of drugs.Murray's defence argued that to suspend the doctor's license then evidence of a crime would have to be submitted. As the doctor has not been tried, then there is currently no base for the withdrawal of his license.
Dr Conrad Murray will stand trial for the preliminary hearing into the death of Michael Jackson on August 23.
The parents of Michael Jackson, Joe and Katherine were in court to watch the judgement despite just over the weekend Joe stating his wife Katherine was the blame for Michael's death.
