Michael Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray will stand trial for the involuntary manslaughter of the superstar.
Today in Los Angeles, Judge Michael Pastor ruled that the 57-year old doctor will answer to the case surrounding Jackson’s death after prescribing the singer with the drugs that killed him.
The California Medical Board has also suspended Murray’s medical license meaning he can no longer practice in the state of California. However, he also holds licenses in Nevada and Texas and can still practice at his clinics in Houston and Las Vegas if he chooses but he must advise each district of the judge’s ruling.
Prosecutors successfully testified that Conrad Murray was negligent in giving Jackson the drug Propofol that is usually only administered in a hospital.
The judge also heard how Murray also ordered a bodyguard to hide evidence of the singer’s drug use and waited 21 minutes before calling an ambulance.
Murray has pleaded “not guilty”. He could face up to four years if convicted.
