Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel has been honored with the title Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his services to the music industry.
Emmanuel, who now lives in the United States, said he was thrilled with the recognition from Queen Elizabeth II. "Before my mother passed away she wrote me a little note and the last line of that note was never forget that you're an Aussie," he said in a statement."It's just a great honour for an Australian to be recognised for hard work and dedication and taking Australia with me wherever I go."
Broadcasters John Doyle and Greig Pichaver (Roy and HG) also received the award for their services to media and their charity work.
