The iconic Melbourne venue The Tote is back in business after shutting down earlier this year over new licensing laws.
The new owners had their licence approved at 4pm yesterday June 9.At a function for punters tonight, previous owner Bruce Milne had the official handover of the pub to its new owners and announced that the pub formerly known as Tote will still be known as The Tote.
The Tote closed in January and a lot of the fixtures inside were then sold off to pay the legal fees but the new bar looks at lot like the old bar.
The new owners Jon Perring, Sam Crupi and Andrew Portokasllis were amongst the buyers of the old furniture to help maintain some of the heritage.
The Tote has been the venue for acts like Lemonheads, Hoodoo Gurus, The Vines and White Stripes over the years.
