The second album from Pegi Young will be released this month.
'Foul Deeds' was showcased earlier this year at SXSW with the band she shares with husband Neil including Anthony Crawford on guitars and vocals, Ben Keith on pedal steel, dobro and Hammond B3, Rick Rosas on bass and Spooner Oldham on keyboards with Phil Jones on drums. For 'Foul Deeds', Pegi goes to the "dark side". "The CD is full of dark themes... divorce, debauchery, disillusionment and despair. So the title 'Foul Deeds' summed it up," said Pegi in a statement.
The new album features more of Pegi's songs following up the 2007 debut release. Included is a cover of Lucinda Williams 'Side of the Road'.
Neil Young features on the track 'Starting Over'.
Pegi will perform songs from the album at a showcase at Amoeba Records in San Francisco on June 22.
She will also be performing live with the band:
June 10, Seattle, Triple Door
June 12, Portland, Mississippi Studios
June 15, Santa Cruz, Don Quixote's
June 17, Oakland, The New Parish
June 20, Los Angeles, Largo
