Whilst a little late for some, the latest list of honorary Grammy recipients has been announced in Los Angeles.
A range of genres are represented, with rock icons The Doors (Jim Morrison d.1971) and The Grateful Dead (Jerry Garcia d.1995) receiving 'lifetime achievement' awards, along with opera great Maria Callas (d.1977), soul greats Booker T. & the MG's (Al Jackson, Jnr. d.1975), and country legend Bob Wills (d.1975).Thankfully, some living artists are receiving awards as well, with 76-year-old jazz saxophonist Ornette Coleman being recognised, as well as folk icon Joan Baez. Coleman has also received a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Individual or Group for his 'Sound Grammar' release, his first ever nomination. Baez has received six Grammy nominations, but has never won.
The 2007 Grammy Awards take place in Los Angeles on February 11.
