Bobby Bright, half of the legendary 60s Aussie act Bobbie and Laurie, will make a rare appearance on Thursday night in Melbourne.
Bright will play The Fleece Hotel in South Melbourne with new band members Peter Robinson on drums, Dean Addison on bass and Rory McKibbon on guitar.Bobby Bright and Laurie Allen graced the Australian charts in the late 60s with hits like ‘Hitch Hiker’ (no 1), ‘I Belong to You’ (no 15), ‘High Noon’ (no 18) and ‘Carroll County Accident’ (no. 16).
Bright was also an actor in the Aussie cop show Homicide and did time as a DJ on 3XY. In 1973, he played the part of the Doctor in the Australian production of Tommy.
Laurie Allen died of a heart attack in 2002.
Bobby Bright and Band will perform on Thursday May 13 at The Fleece Hotel in South Melbourne.
