Angry Anderson showed the kids how it is meant to be done when Rose Tattoo performed at the 4th annual Cherry Rock event in AC/DC Lane, Melbourne on Sunday (May 2, 2010).
It has been a tough few years for Rose Tattoo with the passing of Mick Cocks, Peter Wells, Ian Rilen, Dallas Royal and Lobby Loyde over the years but the current band with Dai Pritchard, Paul DeMarco, Geordie Leach and Robin Riley were every bit the ‘Rock and Roll Outlaws” you expected them to be when they took to the stage at around 8pm.Angry dished up a decent dose of the 1978 debut album with ‘Rock N Roll Outlaw’, ‘The Butcher and Fast Eddy’, ‘One of the Boys’, ‘Bad Boy For Love’ and ‘Nice Boys’ included in the set.
Of course, ‘We Can’t Be Beaten’ and ‘Rock and Roll Is King’ were in there as well.
Cherry Rock kicked off at midday with 3?? stages for non-stop rock for 650 punters.
Cherry Bar co-owner James Young deserves the proverbial pat on the back for not only putting on a decent day of music in Melbourne’s CBD but also for creating what I am sure will grow to become an important cultural event for the city.
Bring on Cherry Rock 011!
