Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale will join Slash on stage in Melbourne for the launch of MTV Classic on April 28.
Slash will be in Australia to promote his self-titled album that features Stockdale on lead vocals on ‘By The Sword’. That is the song the pair will perform for MTV.“Every vocalist I have chosen to work with is someone I have wanted to work with and I was so impressed by what Andrew delivered,” Slash said in a statement. “He has one of the purest rock voices out there and I can’t wait to rock it out with him in his own country!"
“I never imagined when I was growing up in suburban Brisbane that I would one day be performing alongside a rock idol! The whole creative process behind this track has been one of the classic moments of my life,” said Andrew Stockdale.
Also joining Slash will be Australian rock icon Angry Anderson. Guns n’ Roses recorded Rose Tattoo’s ‘Nice Boys’ in the early days and the pair will perform that, as well as old Gunners tracks at the launch show.
MTV Classic will go to air on May 1, 2010 at 5pm.
