Melissa Etheridge and her wife of 6 years Tammy Lynn Michaels have separated.
Tammy, who took Melissa’s surname in the marriage, exchanged vows in September, 2003.Tammy is the mother to their twin children, son Miller and daughter Rose. Melissa also has two other children, Bailey, 13 and Beckett, 11 with former partner Julie Cypher, fathered by singer David Crosby.
Meanwhile, Melissa will release her 11th studio album `Fearless Love` next week.
The album marks are a return to the electric Melissa we knew in the early days from hits like ‘Like The Way I Do’ and ‘Bring Me Some Water’.
"This album is definitely a return to my rock n' roll roots," she said in a statement.
Melissa has recorded for Island Records since her self-title debut in 1989. In 2007, she won an Academy Award for her song ‘I Need To Wake Up’ from the Al Gore movie ‘An Inconvenient Truth’.
