Opera star Renee Fleming describes her new music as a `visit to a new, parallel universe’.
The superstar soprano has recorded songs by Muse, Death Cab For Cutie, Arcade Fire, The Mars Volta and others for the album ‘Dark Hope’.“I’ve always been inspired by artists who have shown musical and intellectual curiosity and the courage to take risks. Because everything about the voice interests me, I felt it would be fascinating to learn a completely different style of singing,” she said in a statement.
The three time Grammy winner has performed in opera houses around the world and was a featured performer at President Obama’s Inaugural Celebration.
‘Dark Hope’ will be released on May 21.
