Robert Plant Gathers Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller For Band of Joy

Robert Plant has announced a new supergroup somewhat in Band of Joy.

Band of Joy will feature Patty Griffin on vocals and Buddy Miller of guitar and vocals as well as Byron House on bass, Darrell Scott on vocals and various instruments and Marco Giovino on drums.

Band of Joy have recorded an album to be released through Rounder, the label that released Plant and Alison Krauss’s ‘Raising Sand’ album.

“It’s been a blast working on these new songs...and I’m enjoying such creativity and vitality. It’s been a remarkable change of direction for all of us and as a group we all seem to have developed a new groove,” Plant said in a statement.

Band of Joy will perform select dates in July.
