Yoko Ono and her son Sean Lennon are in serious damage control after exploiting old interview footage of John Lennon for a television commercial.
Yoko has taken her late husband John completely out of context for financial gain for a commercial for French car manufacturer Citroen.John must be rolling around in his grave knowing that words of encouragement he was saying for fans in the 70s are being used to flog the French automobile.
Sean Lennon has jumped to the defence of his mother’s actions trying to explain that “Having just seen [the] ad I realize why people are mad. But [the] intention was not financial."
He said on Twitter that Yoko did it, "hoping to keep dad in [the] public consciousness."
Mrs Lennon and son obviously have no idea of John’s profile still nearly 30 years after his death. “It's just hard to find new ways to keep dad in the new world. Not many things [are] as effective as TV," Sean said on Twitter.
