Cold Chisel returned to the studio this week to start work on their first album since `The Last Wave Of Summer` in 1998.
Chisel reformed last year for a one-off gig at the V8 Supercars event in Sydney. It became obvious very soon after the announcement that they were planning a recording and major tour when they announced respected artist manager John Watson had taken over representation for the band.
Watson, who also manages Silverchair and Missy Higgins, was hardly taking on a defunct band to manage a back catalogue.
Cold Chisel have only played on a handful of occasions since that 1998 reunion. There was the Ringside tour of 2003 and a benefit performance at the Tsunami concert in Melbourne in 2005 as well as the V8 show and warm-up gig last December.
It is very early days for the recording and no release date has been set. Chisel are only a few days into recording this next album.
