Dr. Conrad Murray has now been officially charged with involuntary manslaughter over the death of Michael Jackson.
Murray faced court in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon (February 8, 2010) and pleaded “not guilty” to the charge.Jackson died on June 25 at his rented Los Angeles mansion. Following months of investigation, Murray will finally face charges.
The complaint against Murray read that the doctor “did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson” by acting “without due caution and circumspection”.
Members of the Jackson family including Michael’s brothers Jermaine, Randy and Tito, his sister LaToya and father Joe were at the hearing.
Murray’s attorney told awaiting media when he arrived “We’ll make bail, we’ll plead not guilty and we’ll fight like hell”.
Dr. Murray was release on $75,000 bail. If convicted, he could face four years in jail.
