Singer Songwriter Ryan Bingham has been nominated for an Academy Award for his song `The Weary Kind` from the movie `Crazy Heart`.
Two weeks ago, Bingham took home the Golden Globe award for best song beating Paul McCartney and Bono.McCartney was not nominated for an Oscar for his song ‘I Want To Come Home’ from ‘Everybody’s Fine’, nor was Bono for ‘Winter’ from ‘Brothers’.
Ryan is up against two Randy Newman nominations. ‘Almost There’ and ‘Down In New Orleans’ are both from ‘The Princess and the Frog’. Maury Teston is nominated for ‘Take It All’ from ‘Nine’ and Reinhardt Wagner and Frank Thomas are in with ‘Lion de Panama’ from ‘Paris 36’.
The Academy Awards will be held on Sunday March 7.
