Neil Young Serenades Conan O`Brien A Fond Farewell

Conan O`Brien said that the first person to call and offer his support with news of his departure from NBC was known was Neil Young.

Neil Young joined Conan O’Brien for his final show on Friday and sang his classic ‘Long May You Run’.

The departure of Conan from NBC was greeted with record ratings for the star. He out-rated David Letterman by more than three to one, ironic considering that the show did not rate until the war between former host Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien erupted.

Conan got the last laugh. He is getting a $32 million payout from NBC for his 7 months on the show. His staff will also be compensated with a share of $12 million from the network.
