15 years is a long time in any business. For Melbourne ska punk band Area-7, being around for 15 years is a good reason to celebrate.
Whilst the band hasn’t been as active as they once were, Area-& still pop up each year for live shows. On February 5, the live show will also be a party as the band celebrates its 15 year anniversary.
Area-7 started out as the Madness covers band Mad Not Madness. That evolved to Dawning of a New Era, a name taken from a Specials song. Then when singer Walter Eskdale left and John ‘Stevo’ Stevens joined they became Area-7.
Fans can celebrate 15 years of Area-7 on February 5 at the Gershwin Room at the Espy in St Kilda.
