`The African Queen`, one of the greatest Hollywood movies has been restored for a blu-Ray release in March.
The movie starred Humphrey Bogart as alcoholic sea captain Charlie Allnut and Katharine Hepburn as missionary Rose Sayer.The restoration process for the move took 6-years after the three-strip negative for the film was discovered in London. The film was scanned and digitized and then the parts were sent to Los Angeles the scans were inspected frame by frame.
Legendary director John Huston filmed the original movie on location in Africa. The movie became his masterpiece.
The Blu-Ray and DVD will include a documentary of the making of the movie including home movie footage taken during the original shoot.
Paramount will release The African Queen on Blu-Ray on March 23rd.
