Hollywood has gone into lock-down over a forthcoming biopic on late dance act Rick James.
James, best known for the R&B classic ‘Super Freak', was a Hollywood party animal.The biopic is expected to reveal all-nighters with actors like Tatum O'Neal, Elisabeth Shue, Eddie Murphy and Linda Blair as well as background on parties with Rod Stewart, Prince and Mick Jagger.
"The eighties were a party era. Everyone was living large. It just happens to be the era of Rick James,” producer Perry Santos, of HiddenDoor Documedia, says in a statement. “You can't tell the story of Rick without conveying the historical context."
The movie has been co-produced by James' daughter Ty.
Rick James died of natural causes in August 2004 at the age of 56.
