Rivers Cuomo of Weezer might not be able to play any shows for a while, but that doesn’t mean he can’t get on with demoing and if you think you have got what it takes, you can help him do it.
You’ll get paid the princely sum of $US208 if you head on over to Indaba Music and, well, make him a worthwhile demo.“I wrote this tune with Shusui. Now I want to write the lyrics. Before I do that, I'd like somebody to produce a better demo of the music. I'll pay you $208,” Cuomo says on the site.
In the meantime, if you’re wondering how he’s doing after his bus crash, webmaster, friend and all-round nice guy Karl Koch put an update on Radio Weezer letting us know how he is doing.
“Hi, this is Karl from Weezer.com,” he says. “Thanks to all of you for all your support for Rivers and his assistant Sarah in the recent bus accident that ended our tour prematurely. We got Rivers home on a 48 hour non-stop bus trip of all things ironically, because he was unable to fly due to lung injury.
“Every day I traveled with him Rivers was doing a little bit better and compared to how he looked and how he felt the day after the accident, he’s doing tremendously better. He is breathing much better, his voice is much better, he can walk, he can talk. He’s not allowed to run, jump or really exert himself for another month, which is why we have had to cancel the upcoming shows as well. We apologise for that. But he’s on the mend and doing better, and hopefully by mid-January he’ll be given a clean bill of health so we can rock on in the future.
“Alright everyone, thanks again for all your kind words. It really made a difference. Rivers appreciates it. Have a happy holidays.”
