Some of Australia's top female artists come out for a cancer benefit at Melbourne's Esplanade Hotel.
Grace Knight, Kate Cebrano, Kate Alexa, Carmen Frase, Lillian Thoms and Abbie Cardwell will perform on December 14 at St.Kilda's legendary Esplanade Hotel to raise awareness for The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre at the Austin Hospital. It's been another bad year for the Australia music industry, seeing cancer take stars like Belinda Emmett, Rose Tattoo guitarist Pete Wells, guitarist Roger Treble (who played with The Rondells, The Four Seasons and the Victorian State Opera) and X and Rose Tattoo founder Ian Rilen.
The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre is set to be a world-class facility providing treatment for all cancers as well as a range of services and facilities for cancer care, research, education and training.
Following Newton-John's sparkling career on screen and in the country and disco music fields throughout the '70s and '80s she underwent surgery for breast cancer in 1992. In October 2005 she released her 'Stronger Than Before' album promoting breast cancer awareness and this concert continues her dedication to the cause.
