Radiohead front man Thom Yorke has said in his blog that he is “disgusted” at the way the Copenhagen Summit ended.
Yorke, who was in the talks with a press pass, reported via the band’s Dead Air Space blog. Despite in an earlier interview he expressed a wish to remain positive, he has now said he is “truly disgusted about the way things have ended here.”He referred to the talks as “two weeks of crap”, said the west had an “inability to lead decisively” and feels “deeply traumatized by the whole experience.”
In 2006 the Big Ask campaign, of which Yorke was a spokesman for, was successful in introducing the Climate Change Bill, which requires the UK to “ensure that the net UK carbon account for all six Kyoto greenhouse gases for the year 2050 is at least 80% lower than the 1990 baseline.”
