Rendezvous with Wolfmother, Gomez, The Vines, Missy Higgins and more this Easter at Sydney's Great Escape festival.
Just when you thought the Australian summer festival circuit might be a touch stacked, it's seeping into Autumn. In what has been billed as Sydney's only "live-in" festival, The Great Escape has announced a slick Australian and overseas line-up for the Easter long weekend, April 6 - 8. Held at the Newington Armoury, riverfront in Olympic Park, you'll only have to drag your swag for 20 minutes out of Sydney City.So who will be entertaining over the three days? How's this for a start... Newly crowned kings of Oz rock Wolfmother will play their only hometown gig in six months, well-loved skewed UK blues rockers Gomez return with the full band, Missy Higgins will be playing tunes from her 2007 sophomore album, New York's Ben Kweller brings his pop croon, revived rockabilly masters The Living End continue their never-ending roadtrip, and New Zealand's funky dub floorfiller's Fat Freddy's Drop bring the party.
Also expect to see Ziggy Marley, Hilltop Hoods, The Vines, Bob Evans, Fishbone (yes, Fishbone), Lee Scratch Perry and more to be announced. Tickets go on sale December 14.
