Susan Boyle and Michael Buble CDs are definitely going to be the two biggest music gifts this Christmas. Susan Boyle last week sold the most units for a single CD in more than three years. Buble is doing well, as well.
Boyle’s ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ shifted 85,925 units across Australia last week putting total sales over 150,000 units in just three weeks.Buble’s ‘Crazy Love’ was at number two selling 25,708 units.
Boyle and Buble are the saviours of music this Christmas. In this same week last year, every Top 10 album sold more than 10,000 units. Last week, only Boyle and Buble sold over 10k.
The rest of the top 10 did from 9882 for Foo Fighters’s ‘Greatest Hits’ at 3 down to 8,223 for Michael Jackson ‘This Is It’ at 10.
That is not a good sign.
In this same week last year, the Top 10 combined sold 178,700 units which was less than last week’s 185,346 sales, but that is only because of the Boyle factor.
The other major seller is the Pink DVD ‘Funhouse Tour: Live In Australia’. It sold 23,401 units last week.
Total sales the Christmas juggernauts so far are:
Pink : Funhouse Tour: Live In Australia 254,179
Susan Boyle : I Dreamed A Dream 159,848
Michael Buble : Crazy Love : 139,668
