Engelbert Humperdinck is on his way to Sydney for a family gathering and while he is in town he will join the cast of Carols in the Domain to sing a Christmas tune or two.
The legendary singer has a great reason for this Australian visit. He is going to meet his 2-month old granddaughter. "I am absolutely thrilled to be coming to Sydney to meet my grandaughter, Kiki for the first time," he tells Undercover in a statement.Engelbert Humperdinck was born Arnold George Dorsey. Kiki is the daughter of his son Scott Dorsey and daughter-in-law Jo. Kiki was born on October 2, 2009 at the Prince of Wales hospital in the inner-Sydney suburb of Randwick.
Scott is head of Dorsey Productions and managed his father’s career throughout the 80s and 90s.
Engelbert Humperdinck will headline Carols in the Domain and will return to Australian in 2010 for a 12-date tour. “It’s been a while since I was last in Australia. I love it, especially at Christmas time,” Engelbert said. “For a guy who spent most of his life in the UK, the idea of forty degree days in the festive season is a little strange to me.”
Carols in the Domain will be held on December 19. It is a free event.
