Adelaide art-rockers Wolf & Cub have won this year's Qantas Spirit of Youth Award (SOYA) in the music category.
The prize caps off a stellar year for the four-piece, whose visceral and jagged take on the indie rock genre has seen them gain national attention, as well as a deal with renowned UK label 4AD. They released their debut album 'Vessels' in September. The band's guitarist and vocalist Josh Byrne accepted the award this week at a ceremony in Sydney. They win $5000 in cash and $5000 in Qantas flights. The latter may come in handy when the band travel to Japan in January to support their lupine cousins, Wolfmother.
