Elton John is seriously ill in hospital suffering from e-coli bacterial infection and influenza.
The highly contagious disease was first detected in 1982. It is generally transmitted to humans though undercooked or raw food.Sir Elton is in a central London hospital but is reported to be in good spirits.
The illness has brought to a halt his Face 2 Face tour with Billy Joel. The two superstars had been touring together for the last 6 months. Shows in Liverpool, Newcastle, Wembley and Dublin were cancelled last week and now US dates for this week have also been canned.
Elton’s touring company Live Nation expects to announced new dates as soon as the singer is well enough to return to work.
