The American chart this week was one of the closest races of the year with Paramore just beating Barbra Streisand to the top.
Paramore ‘Brand New Eyes’ sold around 184,000 beating Streisand’s ‘Love Is The Answer’ with 176,000 sales, according to Hits Daily DoubleMariah Carey wasn’t far behind and will debut at 3 after ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ ended up selling more than 170,000 units.
It will be a big week for new music in the Top 10. Expect debuts from Breaking Benjamin ‘Dear Agony’, Alice In Chains ‘Black Gives Way To Blue’, Madonna ‘Celebration’, Miranda Lambert ‘Revolution’ and Selana Gomez and the Scene ‘Kiss & Tell’ to all come in the top 10 this week.
The new albums have knocked Pearl Jam ‘Backspacer’ from number 1 to around number 10.
Other debuts this week will be from A.F.I. ‘Crash Love’, Lynyrd Skynyrd ‘God & Guns’, Dethklok ‘Dethalbum II’, Avett Brothers ‘I And Love And You’, Ghostface Killah ‘Ghostdini The Wizrad of Poetry’, Fred Hammond ‘Love Unstoppable’, ‘Foreigner ‘Can’t Slow Down’, Soundtrack ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ and Hatebreed ‘Hatebreed’.
