In the latest episode of Pearl Jam Tour TV promoter Michael Chugg takes you behind the scenes to show you what will go into the Pearl Jam Australian tour.
Jon Pope, tour director for the Pearl Jam tour, takes us around Sydney Football Stadium to see how everything goes into place for this massive tour.The production features five stages over seven shows. 15 trucks will be used to move the show from city to city. It takes two days to set up a stage. 90 people will travel as part of the tour. There are 300 staff at each venue looking after the show. It takes 60 to 70m people to unload the tour trucks and 2000 to 3000 people are involved with the tour.
“Standing on the side of the stage and looking out and seeing 40,000 people having a great night and all smiling and loving each other and enjoying the music and the band reacting off the audience, there is nothing like it,” Chuggi said. “It is better than drugs, trust me. It is not as good as sex but it’s better than drugs”.
