Kylie Minogue is touring the USA for the first time ever.
The Australian superstar is a household name across Europe but has never connected with the US audiences. The only time she made the US charts was in 1988 with ‘The Loco-Motion’ and in 2002 with ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’.Now Kylie is out to impress America with the same big budget show the rest of the world has seen over the years.
Kylie opened her ‘For You For Me Tour’ in San Francisco on September 30 and played Vegas over the weekend. The reviews are uncertain. Americans still don't get her but they have been polite.
Las Vegas weekly said “She may not be Madonna but on this night Minogue validated her superstar status. MTV said, “After a phenomenal live show last night in Oakland, and a host of other shows guaranteed to dazzle, her star may finally be here to stay”.
The San Francisco Chronicle wrote, “apart from a pair of middling ballads that served as a reminder that her relatively thin voice works best served with a generous heaping of bass, there were no major opening-night missteps. Rather, it was one thrill after another, especially for the fans who had waited so long for this moment”.
The show features a debut of a new song called ‘Better Than Today’ written by Scissor Sisters.
Remaining cities on the tour are Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Toronto.
