You know you have a bona-fide supergroup on your hands when all of their hits so not fit on one album.
Foo Fighters ‘Greatest Hits’ will be released next month and doesn’t even get all the songs, like ‘I’ll Stick Around’ and ‘The One’ onto this album.Foo Fighters formed in 1995 after the death of Kurt Cobain brought Nirvana to a tragic halt. Nirvana Dave Grohl got out from behind the drums to become the frontman for Foo Fighters.
The first Foo Fighters album was performed entirely by Grohl with the exception of the guitar piece on the track ‘X-Static’ which was by Greg Dulli of Afghan Whigs.
The second album ‘The Colour and the Shape’ was actually the first album for Foo Fighters as a band with Pat Smear, Nate Mendel and Taylor Hawkins forming the structure.
A year ago, Grohl announced that Foo Fighter would take a long break and reconvene when they had “a new sense of purpose”.
‘Greatest Hits’ is here to fill the gap.
The album will be released on October 30.
